Diabetes management

Assessment, glycemic control, education, and prevention of long-term complications.

About this treatment

Diabetes management at Dialine starts with a comprehensive assessment: a review of your medical and medication history, baseline labs including HbA1c, a look at nutrition and lifestyle, and a specialist foot exam to gauge ulcer risk. The goal of this stage is a complete picture of where you stand — not just a single glucose number.

From that assessment we build a written, personalised treatment plan: adjusting medication or insulin, a nutrition programme that fits your routines, and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) where useful, so the real pattern of your glucose across the day becomes visible. Self-care education is an inseparable part of the plan — you should know what you are doing and why.

Diabetes is a long-term path, not a single visit. Regular follow-up sessions review progress, and periodic complication screening — eyes, kidneys, nerves, and feet — follows the recommendations of established clinical guidelines such as the American Diabetes Association (ADA), so potential problems are caught before they become serious.

Frequently asked questions

What should I bring to my first visit?

Your medical history, a list of current medications, and recent lab results, including HbA1c if you have it. If you use a glucometer or have glucose data, bring those as well.

Do I need to fast before lab tests?

Some baseline tests require fasting. When you book your appointment, we will tell you exactly what is needed.

What is continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and do I need it?

A CGM is a small sensor that records your glucose pattern through the day and night. Whether it is useful for you is decided together during the assessment.

How often will I need to come in?

Follow-up intervals depend on your glucose control and treatment plan, and they are set out in your written plan.

Can I reduce my medication once things are under control?

Any change to medication is made only by your clinician, based on your real trend. Please never stop or reduce medication on your own.
